Welcome to WellChem, our own departmental take on wellbeing.
Wellbeing is a combination of a person's physical, mental, emotional and social health factors. Wellbeing is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. We are committed to providing a healthy and fulfilling working environment and improving the quality of working lives for all students and staff, in order to improve their wellbeing. We strive to support all areas of wellbeing, including physical, mental and social.

- Keep healthy with Believe in Pilates (a form of core exercise) sessions in the department with Frances Rennie each week costing £5.50 per session. For more information or to join please contact Kathleen or go to Frances' webpage.
- Join the Book Club for a once a month meeting about the latest read. For more details contact Rachel Macdonald at rmm73@cam.ac.uk.
- Look out for the Wellbeing Bulletin and Quick Quiz, emailed out on the last Friday of each month.
- Watch our wonderful 'Powerful Pets' video (edited by Chung Tu) with contributions from colleagues in the department.
- Borrow a Cambridge University Botanic Garden pass free from Reception. 12 passes are available to be borrowed by all staff members on a first come/first served basis.
- CAMbens employee benefits provide a wide range of competitive benefits for employees (including discretionary benefits) from health care cash plans to child care, bicycle and car hire schemes to shopping and insurance discounts.

- The University Counselling Student Counselling Service is for undergraduate and graduate members of the University and the Theological Colleges.
- The Staff Counselling Centre provides support for all university employees.
- The Occupational Health Service help ensure that staff members are working in a safe work environment and that a person's health is not adversely affected by their work activities. You can make an appointment to receive confidential advice on all matters relating to work activities. The Service does not provide emergency treatment, and you should contact the Department’s First Aiders for this.
