Bullying and harassment

We take the reporting of bullying and any form of harassment extremely seriously and we work with the people affected to resolve issues and provide a safe and rewarding working environment.

Staff members

In the first instance you can approach your line manager, Marita Walsh, Kathleen Pickett, the Deputy Head of Department or the Head of Department.  They will work with trained specialists in the university to deal with the complaint and provide the necessary support and advice. If for any reason you would prefer to consult someone outside the department you can contact the School of Physical Sciences HR Business Partnering Team, Dignity at Work Contacts or if you are a member of a trade union you can seek advice through one of their representatives.

Students

Your college Tutor, Senior Tutor or Graduate Tutor will offer prompt and useful support and advice working closely with trained teams across the collegiate university. Within the department you can contact the Undergraduate Teaching Office, Postgraduate Education Team, Deputy Head of Department or Head of Department, who will work with the Harassment and Violence Support Service who provide information online. You can also contact HVSS directly at HVSS@studentsupport.cam.ac.uk or on 01223 332865 (9am - 5pm Monday to Friday).
